Tomorrow...

Well due to some unfortunate circumstances we will be leaving to the great white north 1 week early. Which really doesn't bother me a whole lot, because I get to be there a little longer than planned. Anyway I just thought I'd post really quick before we take off, After today it might be a month or so before you hear from us again. Unless Matt blogs. So in other words, it's gonna be a while! Anyway Matt really wanted me to post these picture because he thinks they're hilarious. I am actually a little ashamed. Where on earth did he learn this?!

By the way he's not picking his nose, he is actually showing me where it is.

Here's one a mother can be proud of... I love it when he folds his arms. The other night for family prayer he actually was bowing his head. It was really cute, although I think he must have learned that one in nursery. But still not bad for only 2 visits to nursery. Kudos to that nursery leader! She is awesome.

Popcorn Bloomer and Blouse GIVEAWAY !!!!!!!

Popcorn Bloomer and Blouse GIVEAWAY !!!!!!!

1000 visitors?!

I just noticed that my counter is over 1000. Ok I know it's not a huge feat. Most of the blogs I read have gazillions of visitors everyday, they get 1000 visitors every hour. But in honor of my measly little blog getting 1000 visitors I would love it if everyone who checks up on our little life on a regular basis wouldn't mind leaving a comment. I'd love to know who my blogging pals are. Thanks for checking up, it sure makes us feel special! Hope to hear from you.

Just counting down...

Well we're off to Canada in just over a week, and I am going stir crazy waiting for the day we leave! To keep me occupied though I do have these...
And to keep Jonas busy we have this...

Which he is currently watching in his new blanket fort!

We're having a fun day...

Reverisble Bird Seed Skirt GIVEAWAY!!!!

Reverisble Bird Seed Skirt GIVEAWAY!!!!

Summer Fun...

Alright all you Aunts Uncles And Grandparents... This post is 99% about Jonas so I'm sure that will make everyone happy. I don't think I've had a post all about Jonas in like 3 whole days! Anyway, I've been dreaming of the day when Jonas and Wyatt could play together and I would not have to worry about it... That day came along time ago but I haven't really got any pictures of it until just recently. I think it's sweet.

Also here is a video of the end of their romp. I was too busy taking pictures and didn't think about a video until it was over.

On another note, I have officially realized that I am too poor and to lazy to keep track of my child's milestone ages, so here in advance are some amateur shots of Jonas at 18 months (almost) Anyway I think what I really need is an SLR camera and a great photo editing program, and maybe I'd have a little potential. But for everyone out there who has never tried taking pictures of a high energy toddler this will probably look terrible. To those of you who have... You probably understand why these are the best 3 out of many. If I had that program mind you there would not be any bruises or scratches, but till my darling hubby graduates, I will just have to dream! Oh and convince myself that they totally add character!

On one last non-Jonas related note... Look at this glorious Raspberry patch! They are officially ripe and I have been picking and eating to my hearts content for days now. We may live in a trailer, but I think that this might make it worth it!

P.S. Sorry Jessie, I was going to post a full shot of the quilt but Jonas is taking a nap with it and I forgot to take a full picture of it! Next time, I promise! Guess what!? Only two weeks till Canada! Hooray!

There's A First Time For Everything

I know I have only done this blog thing a couple times, but here goes (This is Matt). Well, this is for my teachers in High School that always said I didn't try and I would never accomplish anything in my life. They were right about the trying thing (shudder), because for the first time in my life, I actually got straight 'A's. Ha! Check it out.

I'd just like to thank Rexburg for not having anything exciting going on so I wasn't distracted, Jonas, for going to bed at 8 p.m. so that I wasn't up all night, just very very late. But not Renee because she distracted me with the movies she watched every night. Just kidding, she was very understanding and neglected.
Sorry, this has never happened to me before. Just one more thing. Take THAT Melissa and Michael. You guys aren't the only brainiacs in the family; pffft!

The moment we've all been waiting for!

I finished the binding last night and gave it to Jonas this morning! I think he likes it! He wanted to sit on it while he drank his milk and kept tugging it off the table while I tried to take pictures. It's obviously not perfect, but so far I haven't made anything that was, and I probably never will, but I'm proud of it. I've officially made something all by myself without "someone" watching over my shoulder. Believe me I could not have done it without her! Thanks again Camille for teaching me everything I know. Which is not even close to what you know!
Anyway, here are just a few shots of it!
I promise he was smiling right before I snapped this shot but from this picture you'd think I was forcing him to sit there!

Two Weeks Early!!

And can I say "Hooray!!" Jonas wasn't supposed to go to nursery until the 1st week in August but somehow he ended up there today! Actually we sort of bribed the nursery leader! Just kidding she is just a sweet lady! We took him in there today just to get acquainted with things, and after 5 minutes the nursery leader told us to leave. Jonas didn't even flinch, he practically waved us out of the room! Anyway apparently he did really well and didn't even notice we had left! I'm so proud of our big boy! (And a little sad that he isn't very attached...) But seriously sitting through Sunday school and relief society was like a dream. After almost 18 months of not listening in church it kinda made it hard to concentrate! I'm sure we'll get used to it!

By the way, check back soon... I just have the binding left on Jonas' Quilt! I'm so excited! And I will be posting pictures!

Aaaaw Honey, you baked!

I think I have started a trend these days of being... What's the word... Homemakerish? I don't know, but I'm sewing and now I'm baking! Yesterday I went on some sort of kick and I baked cupcakes, and a strawberry-rhubarb pie! Ok not so unusual, but here's the kicker... After all that baking, my kitchen is still clean. Actually I think it might be cleaner than it was before I started, and for everyone who knows me, knows that keeping my kitchen clean is a feat unto itself! Anyway here are some mouth watering pictures of the process of baking this gorgeous pie! Let's just hope it tastes as good as it looks.

Oh and these are the two I did it all for! Matt is super stressed during his last week of classes and Jonas has been super clingy, I thought they could use a treat!

L, 7, Weenie...

Or in other words, a square! Hooray it's finally a square. Now I just need to do the border, back, and binding. Unfortunately for me I put my faith in the Math skills of a Jo-Anns employee and didn't buy enough fabric so I will officially finish it after one more trip to Idaho Falls! Stay tuned for the finished product!
This is the special little guy who's gonna get it! He's reading himself a bedtime story and I think his very own homemade quilt is just what this picture needs. I think he'll actually like it too! He already takes his toys for rides on it when he manages to sneak it off the counter!

Why didn't I do this earlier?

I have been spending weeks and weeks at the spray park in Rexburg, only to be met with resistance and tears every time. It could have something to do with the fact that it's supposed to be nap time every time we go, or maybe Jonas doesn't like water as much as I thought he did... Anyway I have given up. Until today. I had revelation... I could work him into the spray park... I could get him used to it slowly and then he'd grow to love it! Step one is the green monster seen below, and although I may have scarred him for life when I initially turned it on and it sprayed him in the face, but after a good cry he was actually mighty intrigued by it! I've had this pool for almost a year now and I've finally used it! (Well, Jonas did!). I think with time we might actually get him in the big spray park. Till then this is our best friend!
P.S. Please excuse the lack of swimwear... It's in the wash! I know we live in a trailer but I promise we are not that white trash... all the time!

A Very short video, but this is how he likes to play!

Independence day! oh and Motts Berry Farm

We took Jonas to his first fireworks last night! He didn't get to go last year because we were in Canada, not to mention who wants to take a 5 month old to fire works. Actually all day yesterday I was wondering if I even wanted to take a 17 month old to fire works, and when we woke him up to go, he had such a good cry I was really doubting my judgement. Anyway we went prepared with earplugs and mosquito repellent, and ended up arriving just in time to lay out the blanket and take a couple pictures before they started. Jonas was tired but I think he enjoyed them. We ended up just covering his ears instead of using the earplugs and he just sat and watched. It ended up being very late night for him, but he handled it like a trooper. On the 2 hour drive home he waved to all the traffic directors and people walking by and fell asleep right before we got home.

Jonas ended up waking up right on time this morning despite the late night, so we decided to go check out the little petting zoo that's just down the street! It was pretty cool, and he had a lot of fun. He's pretty fearless when it comes to petting the critter and he also was hand feeding the ponies and goats! He loves animals, and we actually got a few grins and giggles out of him.

We've Moved...

Well we would have, but it just wasn't the right time... And we're poor college kids... But if we had an awesome amount of money at our disposal I'm pretty sure we would have gotten this place. This picture totally does not do it justice, but it is seriously our dream home, I guess now we just get to sit and wait and dream about it! I wish I could explain the catwalk and the adorable playroom upstairs, and all the little crawlspaces... This 5 bedroom masterpiece would be any kids and parents dream. It was adorable to say the least... Anyway I'll stop dreaming and and get back to here and now.

Jonas has been a dream the past couple of days, he's playing by himself and he has hardly thrown any tantrums, I think we've past the banging his head against the floor phase, which is great. We've hit the park a few times but mostly we've just hung out close to home. It's way to hot to stay outside for very long, unless there's water involved. Too bad Jonas is afraid of the spray park. I'm also making goals to get more organized. We'll see how long it lasts but hopefully I can keep it up. Matt is always so thrilled when the house in clean, so I'm trying my darnedest to keep it that way for him. So far I have succeeded with doing the dishes and picking up the clutter and toys in the living room for the past couple days. One day I'll get to the storage room, and our room. Anyway, enough ramblings, here are some pics from the park and a few others.

I think I mentioned once how Jonas has taken to just falling asleep on me if I get on the computer too close to nap time . Anyway here's a shot of it.
Matt decided we should document the making of Jonas's Quilt that I'm making. I'm proud to report that it is almost finished! Hooray no more achy fingers!
Doesn't it look like a giant took my picture? I know Matt's tall but, come on. I keep telling him he needs to get down to my level or Jonas's level when he takes pictures. But then he just gets grumpy!
Silly grin!
Me and my baby... We have so many shots like this it's pathetic. We went to Justin and Beth's last week and Jonas had a blast on their swing set. He's been on swings before but I've never heard him laugh like this!

I wish Matt could have caught him when he first got on. This is not even close to how hard he was laughing at the beginning!
