Suprise Mail and another critter!

We are about to take off to Vegas for an extended weekend but first I thought I would do a quick post before we leave. Again not to much has been going on. But we did have a couple surprises this weekend! On Sunday we took our traditional walk around, and also locked ourselves out of our house!! Anyway while trying to wrangle up another key, we ended up spotting this fella! I have never seen one in real life before, well except at bird places and maybe a zoo I think. Anyway it was totally cool! I didn't realize how big they were until he spread his wings to fly away!! Jonas has been totally enthralled by all the little birds that hang around on our lawn, it rained last night so all the birds are picking at the worms and Jonas can't get enough of watching them, he has been at the window all morning!
Also I received a package in the mail on Monday which wasn't really unexpected because I've been waiting for it for a few weeks now, I was just delighted to find, along with the sweater my mom sent (thank you Mom!!), 3 pictures lovingly colored for me from my very sweet Niece and Nephew!! Thank you Hadley and Rawley, I have them proudly displayed on my refrigerator right now!! Anyway not too much, but enough to make me want to tell the world! Also Rob, I'm pretty sure Matt wanted to show you this!
Anyway we are off to enjoy some especially warm weather, and see a long lost someone whom we have missed terribly for the last two years *wink*. Actually I think he was far from lost, I'm pretty sure he knew exactly where he was and the great work he was doing! He probably wont read this but, Uncle Mike, we are so excited to see you and can't wait for Jonas to finally meet you!

Lazy and Boring...

That is what we have been for the past week or so, nothing has really happened and the rain has been no fun. We did have a couple days of sunshine but nothing really awesome happened. I guess here are just a couple of shots over the last week, although it has been so boring I still managed to get the camera out.

For everyone who knew us as new parents, you all know how we didn't want Jonas to watch a lot of T.V., so instead he watches a lot of movies. Anyway I don't think there's really a difference between the two because he looks spaced out no matter what he watches!Jonas went through a two day phase, whenever he would let Wyatt out of his kennel, he would crawl in. He only did it a few times so I'm glad I got a picture of it!Trying to walk in Moms moose slippers. On one sunny occasion we decided to go out and eat some of the watermelon thats been sitting in the fridge since our rained out picnic, it was yummy! We went and checked out the stage for one of the shows, Jonas thought is was pretty cool, but I think he just liked the attention he was getting from the people there. We can't forget shots from our traditional Sunday walk!
Oh and on Monday we went to the sand dunes so Matt could try and take a picture of dirt. I don't think he got the shot he wanted but man oh man did we have fun getting dirty. It wasreally windy but we still survived. We're totally going back when the wind isn't blowing so hard.

Life's a Holiday

Well it's the holiday weekend here and can I say it's been so nice having Matt around for a whole extra day! Jonas really loves playing around with Dad. We didn't really do anything too exciting because of the rain on Saturday and Monday... (Sunday was beautiful, go figure!) We had big plans for the zoo and a picnic but both got rained out. Oh well. We did get to go to the Legacy flight museum which Matt adored, Jonas had fun running around the hangar, and I had fun keeping him out of trouble while Matt chatted with our tour guide! Here are just a couple shots from this weekend!
P.S. We also have a video that I need to post later because it's on the video camera and not the camera, we seriously had a buttefly stampede. On Sunday while Jonas was napping I looked out the window and there were tons of Monarch butterflys flying past our windows! I don't know why they did it or where they were going but they didn't slow down for anything it was so cool, a total freak of nature.
Matt and Jonas on our Sunday walk.
We found all this cool old farm equipment on our property... Another reason not to let Jonas stray too far on our walks!
Jonas loves taking Wyatt for a walk, Whenever we go out he wants to hold the leash even if he's running to keep up, it's really funny!
Matt sitting in the Albatros, it's actually a training plane for the MIG pilots in Russia
Jonas and I in front of the King Cobra, it's one of 3 in the whole world that still flies!
Matt sitting in a P-51, it was a WWII fighter plane but now it's used for acrobatics!

Wow I learned a lot about these planes while we were there! It's amazing what sticks in your head while chasing a toddler!
Anyway this last video is super long but Matt wanted everyone to see our Babies mad dancing skills!! (which by the way he totally demonstrated for the relief society on Sunday during a musical presentation by the teacher!!) He's such a Ham by the way... He only started dancing because he saw me filming him!

We got home Friday night and we've been playing ever since. Canada was a blast but I was thrilled to get home! I have a few photos of Mothers Day and my anniversary considering I was away for both of them. Matt and I did get to celebrate a week late, but it was still great! Can you believe it's been 5 years!! I can't.
Mothers Day!!

I got to spend my Anniversary just the way I wanted to... Eating at my favorite resuraunt in Lethbridge. It was almost the perfect day... Except Matt couldn't be there.

Conference & Quilting!

Well, this has been an awesome weekend. Not only was Matt home all day on Saturday... Well minus priesthood session. But we had a great time watching conference. We don't have T.V. so we had to watch it on a tiny screeen on the computer but it was still awesome. What was really amazing is how Jonas behaved through almost all of it. It was also the first time in a long time that we actually got to watch all the sessions. It was just what we needed. Anyway here are some shots of the last couple days!
Matt and Jonas during the Satuday afternoon session. Jonas looks so thrilled, or maybe he's just listening really hard!

On another note, while Matt was at priesthood session I got to give a sewing lesson! I taught my friend here how to Stipple and Bind a Quilt that she's making for her new edition, set to arrive in August! Anyway, it was fun and omigosh can I just say she was so good at stippling!

Here she is pinning her quilt just before she stippled.

Here she is actually stippling it...
And here is the almost finished project!! (she just needs to finish hand stitching the binding!!) Anyway I tought it was a lot of fun to share a little knowledge that I been taught. (thanks Camille! Your Stippling tutorial came in handy! Oh and not to mention teaching me all that I know about Quilting!)
Anyway now back to conference. This is Matt and Jonas wrestling right before the morning session started.
Jonas fell asleep about half way through, and can I just say he never falls asleep like this I always have to be standing up if I want him to go to sleep while I'm holding him, I almost didn't want to put him in his bed!
I promise we did listen but we had some playtime also. Jonas needed to be entertained!
Suprisingly his pants kept him busy for a good half hour!

Matt also need to be entertained... or maybe it was Wyatt... I don't know, I guess they kept each other busy

Jonas gives Wyatt the nastiest kisses, good thing we just gave him a bath!
