A Happy 8 Weeks!!

Yes it is finally the day... Jonas is 8 weeks old today. What a glorious 8 weeks it has been... Until last night. I am officially posting our first moments as concerned and worried first time parents. Yesterday Jonas went in for his 2 month check up and of course his first round of vaccinations. (it was very sad, he cried!) anyway these shots are sometimes accompanied by a fever. and we were lucky enough to experience that last night. Jonas had a temp 0f 102.6 and well we don't know if that's something to be concerned about, so after talking to multiple people about it we decided to take him to the emergency room. unfortunately they didn't seem to think it was that big of an emergency. After waiting for a 1/2 hour or so, we found out that we would probably be waiting at least 3 hours so we decided to go home and see what we could do there. After a blessing from Daddy, a nice cool sponge bath, some baby Tylenol, a clean diaper and full belly, his fever had dropped dramatically. So all in all there was probably nothing to really worry about. But I think that pediatricians should warn you about stuff like that. they gave me all the paperwork on what to expect after shots so we knew that a fever was normal, unfortunately they didn't fill in the blanks of "don't be concerned unless your child's fever reaches a temperature of _____degrees Fahrenheit. " yes exactly... they should really fill that sheet out.
Anyway on to better things... We are getting closer and closer to capturing Jonas' Smiles on camera. Here are just a few shots!!

Hooray!!

No pictures today, I just wanted to announce that Jonas slept for 8 hours straight last night!! It was glorious and I hope he keeps it up!!

Not to much to report this week just the same old things... Except... Jonas smiled. At Mommy!! He was just lying on the floor kicking his legs on Sunday Night and then he looked up and started to grin. It was so rewarding. of course we didn't have a camera nearby but oh well, such is life. It's made all these weeks worth every poopy diaper and every time he decided to wake up at 6am.

Well I Guess I'm Bored Again

We bought Jonas a gym he loves it... i think anyway it always seems to keep him distracted anyway.

I guess I'll just take a few minutes while Jonas is finally asleep, and update the Blog again. unfortunately there has been no smiles... Yet. But i am positive he is going to do it any day now. other than that we just hang out and have fun. mostly we eat, sleep and well you know, the usual. but we are great, Jonas has started sleeping like 5-6 hours straight in the night and let me tell you... it totally rocks. anyway more pictures for everyone to see cuz he's the cutest baby in the world. Well, i'm officially on my own now. Grandma and Papa John left yesterdayand i'm going through my first day all by myself. So far Jonas has not slept longer than 45 minutes and then he wake up screaming, well most people wouldn't call it screaming, but compared to what i've had for the past few weeks i've never seen Jonas this fussy. oh well i'm surviving i think he's finally tired himself out. He and Wyatt are curled up on the couch together. It's actually really cute. I will post pictures soon. but for now here are more pics of the last few days. Enjoy!!

Well Jonas is officially 1 day off 1 month old!! These are just more pictures of him. Also he got a beautiful blessing from daddy on sunday, there are pictures from that too!

Nothing is really changed except for the fact that Jonas is starting to stay awake a lot more... he can sit for hours just looking around the room and kicking his little legs. He's growing up way too fast.

Jonas the Pirate

Jonas made it home from the hospital!! His first night home was a little eventful but we only ended up being awake a couple hours. Other than that he is a very content baby. He doesn't cry very much, and enjoys staring aroung the room while being held be mom or dad or just sitting in his chair. as long as he can find his fist he wont even cry when he's hungry!! On the other hand, he howls up a storm whenever we change his diaper, clothes, blanket etc... anything that brings him below the temperature of a hot august day in Vegas. and unfortunately it's February!! oh well, we love him so much and are so grateful he has come to be with us.

My Name is Jonas...

Surprise! Two weeks early, Jonas Matthew Brandley has arrived! He was born Feb.1, 2007 at 8:52pm weighing in at 8lbs 10oz, and was 21" long. Good thing Renee didn't go to full term! Renee and Jonas are both healthy and happy. More updates to follow on this one. He's so cute!

Three weeks

Three weeks and counting. the Doc said that baby brandley is between 7-71/2 lbs right now. Hopefully thats pretty accurate. Mom is still comfy but is getting less so as the days go by. Dad is just excited and somewhat nervous i think for the arrival. Baby belly pics for everyones enjoyment, we promise this will be more exciting after the baby is here!!
