Christmas is upon us and I have so much to do. I have a stocking that needs to be finished... And 3 trips to get ready for, (all in a row mind you... Any tips on how to keep an almost 2 year old occupied on 5 plane rides?) and mail to send out. (Sorry everyone who we will be seeing, but your Christmas cards will be hand delivered due to lack of funds...) Seriously I think I'm officially starting to freak out. At least I can say my Christmas shopping is finished. Anyway, Matt has also been super busy catching up from our last trip, and getting things done before we take off again, so we haven't been seeing a whole lot of him :(. Anyway Yesterday was a pleasant surprise because he got to come home early and spend a good chunk of the day with us! We decided to have a bake-a-thon. We made Sugar Cookies, (which were long over due... Matt has been begging for them for ages) and we put together a gingerbread house. Nothing too special, just one of those box kits but it was still a lot of fun. We also picked up some things to make some treats for our friends that live nearby. Here are a few photos of the evening. Jonas only made it through half the festivities before he had to go to bed but I think it worked out for the best. (He didn't really get that the candy had to go on the house...) Oh by the way, I think I might sugar him up more often before bed... He slept till 8:30 this morning! Merry Christmas to me!
Cutting out cookies with Dad!Sampling The fresh baked goodies...
A few of the finished cookies. Matt just likes to frost them all white, he figures we're just going to eat them, but I wanted a few cute ones. This is about all I got, by the time Matt was finished with the others.
We let Jonas decorate a Gingerbread Man before he went to bed. He started to get the idea but still, he just wanted to eat it!
Showing Mom his finished masterpiece.
The finished Gingerbread House.
On days like this I really wish Matt could be home more, although then I wouldn't be able to check up on my blog friends as often. Maybe just having him home once in a while will be OK for now!

Im glad you were able to spend some time together! I bet that is hard.. but it looks like you had a great time! I feel Like I never have time to enjoy Christmas time like I want to. I love making cookies and making gingerbread houses and all that. But work keeps me busy and stressed, so by the time I get home, all I want to do is sleep. anyway, cute pictures! And I hope you are feeling well :)
Your gingerbread house is WAY cuter than the one that we did..... and somehow everyday there are more missing pieces.....hmmmm. I think we have an elf eating them. :)
Awwh, looks like so much fun! Maybe I will have to wait until you guys get here before I make sugar cookies, I would love some little fingers helping me, and some big ones too! Can't wait to have you all back here again! Love you guys!
So cute! I want to do all of those things. Apparently it's not as fun when you're single and do it alone. Whatevs! I'm still doing it!! By the way, I love that you guys made hockey stick cookies. I really shouldn't be surprised.
Hey! Don't stress out about coming here! We are just going to play together and relax... and enjoy mild weather!!! Your gingerbread house is awesome! SO cute! Have a great time in Canada! Miss you!
