Belly Pics and Donkey Noises

Have you noticed that my blog is referring to Donkeys a lot lately? I hope it doesn't mean anything. Anyway Here are two of the pictures my Brother did. I played with them a bit but I know he'll make them look way better with his photo shopping skills. Jonas BTW was uncooperative so the one with him in it is a tad blurry, but I think it's cute. Anyway enjoy my fatness, it wont be around much longer! (I Hope!)

Also here's a video of Jonas telling us what a Donkey says. It's his newest animal sound.

Wedding Bells and a Circus Tent.

This post should be listened to to the tune of circus music, or at least that's what Matt sang every time he saw me in my bridesmaid dress. Actually I didn't look too bad, he was just being a tease. I'll start by thanking Debbie, Thank you for making me fit in my dress! Anyway it was a really quick trip up to Canada for my brothers wedding, but it was so nice. I got to hang out with my family, Jonas got to play with his cousins, and destroy my sisters house... And Matt got more sleep in 3 nights than he's gotten all semester. It was also good to get away one more time before the baby. Anyway the ceremony was lovely and the bride was beautiful! (Welcome to the Fam Tash!) And we are only glad to be home because the next exciting thing that will happen around here will be the new addition. BTW we still haven't picked a name so now's your opportunity to get in some last minutes votes! My Brother took some shots of my fat belly and once he sends me some I promise to post them. Hope everyone else had a great weekend too!

The Happy Couple! Congrats again you two!See, not too bad, I only look a little fat. Or maybe that's just my imagination, for all you
nay-sayers out there you can keep your opinions to yourself. Now sitting is another story, I definitely don't hide the belly well when I sit.

We snatched a cupcake before the cake was cut. Ssssh don't tell.

Cutting the cake... Obviously.

I think this was cupcake number five, he would just walk up to the table, snatch a cupcake and then take it to someone to unwrap it for him. He was majorly spoiled.

All that sugar gave him a ton of energy to boogie all night long. He definitely loved the dancing.

Not what you're looking for...

For more than one reason some people are not going to be happy about this post. I would like to not tell you about this fantastic giveaway over at my friends blog here. (Mostly because I would like to win...) But I will spread the joy, Because I'm nice like that. And I would like to apologize for the lack of belly pictures and posts. I'm not sure what is wrong with me these days, but being on the blog is not one of my favorite things right now. I do have my weekend post in the works so Grandma's and Grandpa's, please be patient, I will post again sometime this millennium. Oh and also I forgot to do this. Matt had to start a blog for one of his classes and right now he has a poll up on it that people are supposed to vote on or something to that effect. so please go and vote here. It will make his day. And remember he doesn't really like blogging, it's a class assignment. Thanks a bunch!

Daylight... What?

Sunday Morning 8:45 Our conversation.
Me: Oooh look we did it again, two weeks in a row we're gonna get soft seats at church!
Matt: Yay!

Driving up to the church 3 minutes later...
Me: Does the parking lot seem really crowded? I didn't think people showed up this early for 9:00 church...
Matt: Mmmm... Yah it does.

Walking into the church 1.5 minutes later...
Matt: It's really quiet...
Me: Maybe they're throwing us a surprise party.
Matt: Surprise church? *weird look.

Mmmm. I guess you could say we forgot, no wait let me re-phrase that. We had absolutely no idea that it was daylight savings. Not even a clue. Who decides when these things happen anyway. They need to send out a memo.

P.S. One good thing about daylight savings... It means Spring is on it's way. I am looking at a Robin right outside my window as I type this. I am so excited!

Donkeys and Basketball

These two things do not go together, but apparently I am the only one who thinks that. Oh well, it wasn't so terrible, and Jonas seemed to like it it. It was nice hanging out with Matt at work too! Anyway I figured out why I never blog anymore. It's because we don't do anything. I'm sorry we have no life, for all you out there who actually look forward to these posts. Anyway that's about it for now. Just a short one today, maybe after a whirlwind weekend in Canada I'll have more to blog about!

Here is a video of Jonas doing the snowman song, Please don't judge the clothes he is wearing. He cried every time I tried to take his Jammies off. I promise Auntie Melissa that we didn't leave the house. He also does the reverent song and itsy bitsy spider, but he never wants to do them for the camera.

Also don't judge the mess I'm in the middle of cleaning out the storage room so there are boxes everywhere! I will make room for the new little guy, if it's the last thing I do!

Anticipation...

1. Dinner, I am hungry.

2. Sleep, Or at least the night when I will be able to sleep again comfortably. It probably wont be tonight.

3. The Baby. Maybe if I could see him, I could decide on a name...

4. All the free stuff I keep getting online, namely a cute necklace that I won from here, Jonas's Cars sleeping bag and pillow from DMR, and free bakeware that should get here sometime this week. Can I just say I LOVE bargain blogs?

5. My brothers wedding. I'm not so much anticipating the wearing of a bridesmaid dress this pregnant, but I am definitely anticipating the happy event. Oh, and getting out of town for the weekend.

6. Finishing 2 Quilts! I'm so close, give me just a little longer!

7. My free Sub from Quizno's. Mmmmm free...

8. July 23rd. Matt's last day of class... Ever... At least for right now. Although at this point I am anticipating the end of this semester. Hopefully next semester wont be so bad.

9. Did I say the baby? For some reason I really can't wait for him to get here...

Also did anyone else know that Jonas can curl his tongue? I just found out on Saturday. I think Matt taught him that one.

What are you anticipating?

L.O.V.E.

I guess it's finally time to post about V-Day. We have never made a big deal about this day until 2 years ago. In some post pardem fit and emotional rage, I remembered that Valentines day was actually the day my sweet Hubby and I first laid eyes on each other. Unfortunately we still really don't make a big deal of the day but we now make a small point to at least acknowledge that without this very special day, we might not be together... And that would be tragic. Anyway, I was officially spoiled rotten. (Apparently Matt has been hiding a few bucks here and there, so he could buy me a couple small presents) Chocolate, oh and as you can see from the picture, my favorite flower ever, was just the start of a wonderful day. He is such a gem. Anyway we spent the day together as a family, and finished the evening with some Chocolate covered strawberries, Martinellis, and a girly movie. (WOW he must LOVE ME!) Anyway that was about the jist of the day. It was wonderful, seriously. Oh and thank you for Presidents day, I'm not sure who I'm thanking but because of it, we got to spend time together, instead of Matt doing his homework all day and night! I hope you all had a sweet V-day too!

I'm annoyed but he doesn't know it.

Yes that's right. This kid has no concept of Annoyance... Or if he does he doesn't seem to care. It's probably just me and I shouldn't be annoyed, but I am. He almost fell asleep in the car on the way home from the grocery store, which in my mind means, he should have fallen asleep when I put him in his room right when we got home. He should not have rearranged his room, torn an (almost) indestructible board book, tried to rescue lost cars from behind his dresser, emptied numerous boxes of too small clothes, and proceed to jump on his bed, and yell at me from underneath the door for the last two hours. When I went in there, he should not have been all grins when he saw my angry face, but he should have been terrified of his scary Mommy. Apparently, I'm not scary. But he should think that I am. Even as I type this I am shooting him annoyed and angry glances that are going completely unnoticed. I guess peanut butter is more interesting. But seriously, can I really stay mad at that cute oblivious face? I guess not.

Do you ever feel like you can't do anything?

No seriously, not in the sense that everything you do is wrong, but in the sense that you "can't" do anything! Jonas has moved to his big boy bed, as I mentioned before and we've finally worked out system. At night it is not so bad, we put him to bed 15 to 30 minutes earlier than we used to, he spends a half hour to an hour on the floor peeking out under the door, and when he starts to get drowsy, I go in, pick him up, and put him in bed. This is working just fine for me and our nights go on as they usually do. On the other hand... His naps... He has always been a light sleeper during nap time, (I'm actually paranoid the clicking of the keyboard is going to wake him as I'm typing this.) So nap time goes like this. I put him on his bed an hour before his usual nap time, he sneaks onto the floor to peek out under his door, while I sneak into the living room and very quietly sit at the computer and dilly dally on my blogs, search for baby names, watch my shows that I have to watch online (with headphones... Just one though, so I can hear when he actually stops making noise), etc... But once I'm certain he's asleep I still can't bring myself to do anything. I have this horrible fear of waking him up! I think I need to plan better. Like a book or something. But then I feel as if I'm wasting hours a day doing not so much. I feel trapped! Or maybe I'm tired of the monotony. On the plus side, if I could move and accomplish things I have awarded myself one extra hour a day to do with as I please. (That's about how long it takes him to fall asleep!) Anyway, any ideas for quiet activities for an extremely bored Mommy? I'm getting desperate, oh and my ear is sore from the ear buds!
It's too bad he's so darn cute, I just can't be mad about it! Not to mention the 2 extra hours a day of me time is not so bad... Now if only I could find a productive way to spend it...

Our Big 2 year old!

From this little wrinkly thing...To this big 2 year old!Jonas is officially 2! I am completely blown away by this fact. Anyway a few things have happened this week to mark the occasion. First he was introduced to his big boy bed. You know the one Papa John got for him months ago? He finally gets to sleep in it, and we took the crib down. We figured it was cold turkey or nothing for us. Naps are kind of a pain but he does OK at night. So far we've only had to pick him up off the floor once! That was the only one that we actually forced, the other things pertain to his communication. He is saying a lot more words. We taught him to say "two", He says, "Eyes", and some more animal sounds as well! He is also getting better at communicating what he wants. I'm so proud of the kid! Anyway he had a wonderful birthday. We were going to have a little party but Matt got this crazy cold so we canceled it. Oh well, maybe next year! Anyway, here are just a few shots from the day!

Cake!

Presents!

We even got him to blow out his own candles! Matt only caught the last one on camera but that's OK! Oh and please excuse my annoying voice!

Oh, and can we say OCD? He was playing with his magnets and the next thing I noticed was this! What a crazy kid! He must like blue and green the best.

And now... The moment you've all been waiting for...

I'm back! I've actually been back for a few days, but I really felt that my neglected Hubby deserved my undivided attention for a couple of days, oh and yesterday I was just feeling lazy. Anyway, after a long month of not being home, getting a nasty cold, discovering the possible beginnings of the terrible two's, and taking 5 (count them) 5 plane rides with a toddler... It is good to be home! The last few weeks have been awesome though. Christmas in Vegas was a blast, We got spoiled rotten. (Especially Jonas...) We got to relax, have fun and actually go out kid free. It kinda makes a girl want to live close to family, who doesn't love an occasional babysitter? After Vegas, Matt drove back to Idaho to prepare for his upcoming Semester and I took flight #1 to Canada where I got to babysit for my sis while she went to Mexico, and although she came home to an exhausted, stuffed up, and voiceless sitter, I really did have a good time with her 3 kids. I love them to bits! Especially when they do things like this. Oh yes that is her 4 year old asleep in the bathroom with no pants or underwear. Not to mention Jonas could not get enough of Hadley. He loves his cousin. Anyway I also got to see the rest of my family, which was great. Unfortunately, I did find out that the bridesmaid dress I'm supposed to wear in 6 weeks might be a tad snug. Now. Not in 6 weeks. Now. Anyway I'm sure everything will work out thanks to my amazing mother who doesn't have any worries. Anyway, I proceeded after that on flight #2 back to Vegas where my wonderful Chauffeurs picked me up for a quick nights sleep and a morning of re-packing for flight #3 to Stockton California! Luckily Jess and Griff don't actually live in Stockton, but that was the closest airport. Can I just say, that I think all Moms need a friend to hang out with all day while parenting? It doesn't even feel like parenting! I always thought that it was the making breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the changing diapers, and the playing, and reading stories that wore me out, but I really think now that it is the one and only lack of adult conversation. Having another person in the room who doesn't speak gibberish is so refreshing. I was sad it had to end considering all the fun things she planned for us to do, although I would have had just as nice a time if we sat in her house all week. Anyway, thanks again Jess and Griff! We had a wonderful time! Anyway I then boarded plane #4 and flew back to Las Vegas. Seriously, I can't thank my chauffeurs/In-laws enough. You guys are awesome! Then it was a quick day of rest and onto flight #5. Can I say, what a relief to see a super cute guy, waiting at the bottom of the escalator for us? I sure missed my Matt, and judging by the amount of homework he got done this weekend I have a pretty good idea that he missed us too! Anyway, sorry for the novel, but that is what happens when you disappear for a month! I will just end with a quick photo recap and be done for the day. Oh and P.S Aren't you glad the Christmas music is gone? I officially pulled a blogging equivalent of leaving my lights on the house all year long!

Monterey bay Aquarium. Such a fun place!
Jonas touching a starfish!
At the beach after the Aquarium.Sandy Feet!
The train at the Zoo! Jonas "toot tooted" the whole ride!Back to my mention of the terrible two's... Whenever I tried to get Jonas dressed he would throw a fit and curl up on the floor and pout. I think it made Sophie a tad concerned! Although it was not love on this trip, I think that her concern for his feelings was a very good sign! They did share their first kiss...
At Grandma and Grandpa's house the day before we got home. All that traveling sure wore him out!

P.P.S. On a slightly unrelated note I finished Jonas's Christmas Stocking! (before Christmas...) I'm a little proud of it!

Just a Quickie...

A few updates over the past week.

We have switched out the doorknob on Jonas' door. There will be no more lock outs for this Mommy! Jonas even helped!

We let Jonas open one of his presents early so we wouldn't have to take it all the way to Vegas with us. He LOVES it! Thanks Grandma Reggie and Papa John!

Last but not least we are leaving this afternoon for Vegas. Again... It will be a blast I'm sure, but I'm a little torn to be leaving this... For weather that is not so Christmassy... Being with family will definitely make up for it.

Anyway due to a few planned trips in the next few weeks, I will be on a blog vacation, if I get the chance I'll probably check in now and then, but nothing too fancy until after the 23rd! (Of January!). Anyway we hope everyone has a wonderful holiday! We love you all and Merry Christmas!

P.S. Camille did some family pics of us last time we were in Vegas! She always does such a great job! Thanks again!

P.P.S. Santa, could you put some Smooth Dissolve Tums in my stocking this year? And maybe some Milk Chocolate Lindt Balls?

P.P.P.S. This clip has been making Jonas laugh all morning!

Better now than never... Right?

Christmas is upon us and I have so much to do. I have a stocking that needs to be finished... And 3 trips to get ready for, (all in a row mind you... Any tips on how to keep an almost 2 year old occupied on 5 plane rides?) and mail to send out. (Sorry everyone who we will be seeing, but your Christmas cards will be hand delivered due to lack of funds...) Seriously I think I'm officially starting to freak out. At least I can say my Christmas shopping is finished. Anyway, Matt has also been super busy catching up from our last trip, and getting things done before we take off again, so we haven't been seeing a whole lot of him :(. Anyway Yesterday was a pleasant surprise because he got to come home early and spend a good chunk of the day with us! We decided to have a bake-a-thon. We made Sugar Cookies, (which were long over due... Matt has been begging for them for ages) and we put together a gingerbread house. Nothing too special, just one of those box kits but it was still a lot of fun. We also picked up some things to make some treats for our friends that live nearby. Here are a few photos of the evening. Jonas only made it through half the festivities before he had to go to bed but I think it worked out for the best. (He didn't really get that the candy had to go on the house...) Oh by the way, I think I might sugar him up more often before bed... He slept till 8:30 this morning! Merry Christmas to me!
Cutting out cookies with Dad!Sampling The fresh baked goodies...
A few of the finished cookies. Matt just likes to frost them all white, he figures we're just going to eat them, but I wanted a few cute ones. This is about all I got, by the time Matt was finished with the others.
We let Jonas decorate a Gingerbread Man before he went to bed. He started to get the idea but still, he just wanted to eat it!
Showing Mom his finished masterpiece.
The finished Gingerbread House.

On days like this I really wish Matt could be home more, although then I wouldn't be able to check up on my blog friends as often. Maybe just having him home once in a while will be OK for now!

Oh please watch this.

Seriously for Men and Women alike. This is the best.

Back again for a few weeks...

Well, we are finally home from Las Vegas. I wish I could say I have a plethora of fun and exciting photos to show you, but I am embarrassed to admit that I did not really take any. How humiliating... Anyway the trip was awesome and we are so worn out that I can't believe we have to do it again in a few weeks. I guess that's the Holidays for you. For the most part it was fairly uneventful, mostly just hanging out and having fun with family and friends. We had a good time at Mount Charleston, we ate some good turkey and got some family pictures taken. Mitch had his farewell, and then we took him to Provo. It was a fun week and Jonas LOVES his Grandparents and especially his Auntie and Uncles. I don't think he even had a chance to be bored. I also got to catch up with an old friend before we left Provo to come home. It was definitely a blast. I really feel the need to do some major relaxing considering December and January are going to be crazy. (Can't Wait!) I will sign off for now. Sorry for the absent pictures. I will try and do better next time! Happy Holidays!

Why do things like this happen right before we go on Vacation?

Well this afternon while we were supposed to be packing, we did this instead... Jonas decided it would be all sorts offun to lock himself in his room, so for an hour and a half I spent my time on the floor peeking under his door trying to convince him to play with his door knob and unlock it. Eventually I gave up on this tactic and thanks to my Sis in Law Learned how to use a credit card to open a locked door, or in my case a Costco Membership card. After he wwas finally out, he then proceeded to put on my mascara. He got it all over his face but suprisingly he also got it on his eyelashes. In otherwords an eventful evening. Anyway we are off to Vegas in the morning. We will be back next week.
P.S. Mim we're going to be in Provo next wednesday, email me your number because I can't find it!

It's beginning to look alot like...

Well I'd like to say Christmas but, well lets just say that every time we set up our tree Matt asks me, "Is this all the decorations we have? Don't you have anything that goes in the rest of the house?" I just don't feel like spending money on decorations unless they are really on sale, and I always seem to miss the sales. Anyway our Christmas tree looks a lot like Christmas so I guess that will just have to do. We set it up after a looooong day at Church, oh and a long weekend preparing a lesson and a talk for sacrament meeting. Seriously, I'm exhausted, not to mention I'm already having problems sleeping. I know everyone told me this already but I was really hoping they were wrong. Apparently you do start showing a lot sooner with Number 2 than with Number 1. I wake myself up every time I switch sides to sleep on, you know considering I hate sleeping on my back and sleeping on my stomach is just too uncomfortable, (not to mention I don't want to squish the kid!). Speaking of the baby, we are having quite the dilemma, what do we name this little fella? We are fresh out of idea's for boy names. We have gotten a few suggestions and a couple that I like but I'm just not sure. I thought that I'd put the search out here, so we could see what sort of ideas our friends and family have. Seriously everyone, we need help!
Anyway the tree is up, and Christmas cards are ordered, and well the holiday tunes are blaring non stop. (Sigh, I love Christmas) Here are a couple pics from the evening. Enjoy!
"Hey Grunewald! Where are you going to put a tree that big?!" Actually the tree is not that big, our house is too small... Or low? You get the idea...

Jonas helped by eating a candy cane, and pulling off the ornaments we already hung. We left most of the ornaments on the top half of the tree so it looks a little funny but I don't care.

The tree lit up in all its glory! Notice the lack of ornaments near the bottom!

I think this might be my biggest problem, he likes to be under the tree, wouldn't that be nice if that how we got kids? Then we wouldn't get fat and have to go through labor, and it would make gift giving so much easier, they only get presents once a year, for their Birthday and Christmas... Mmmm I think I'm onto something...
