Photoshop Illiterate...

I'm trying to teach myself how to use photoshop. And let me tell you it's HARD! I've had people show me things, and Matt is always trying to teach me how too, but I'm having a tough time. I think it will just take sometime and persistence on my part to actually figure it out. Anyway I thought I'd post my before and afters when I do play around with it, and then all you photoshop geniuses out there can give me some feed back. Some people may call it cheating but I did use a premade action on part of this, but I also messed with color and contrast and other things myself too. Anyway I took this the other day when Jonas was throwing rocks in the canal.

Before...
After...

P.S. Don't my kids have a great father? Happy Fathers day Matt and thanks for loving your kids, but mostly, thanks for showing them each day just how much!

The picture looks great! I also, am not very good with photoshop, I am still learning. I probably should just take a class or something, because there are too many things you can do :) Anyway, happy father's day to you guys!! Hope its a good one!

Photoshop kicks my butt too! I tried it the other day and I finally quit after a few frustrating moments! I need you to teach me all that you learn. Your picture turned out awesome!

Hey Ren,

Give this a shot if you get a chance.

It's an excellent understanding of how to do what you are looking for with basically any photo. Easy enough for you to start understanding, but powerful enough to move you to the next level when you are ready. I think you did a fine job touching up that shot as well.

Oh, and please don't use the illiterate thing anymore.

Looks good to me!! I really need a few good days to myself to figure out all of the things that can be done with my program!

Let me tell you... that is sooo cool! It looks so much better! I don't have photoshop and do not know how to use it, but you seem to be doing a great job! PS- I think we are leaving for Canada on the 25th of July and we are driving. (we may be suicidal). Are you moving to vegas???

I ended up taking a class for PS years ago as I was getting frustrated trying to teach myself. The class was amazing. Another program you might consider using, which is REALLY easy to use is Adobe Lightroom.
