Just a Quickie...

A few updates over the past week.

We have switched out the doorknob on Jonas' door. There will be no more lock outs for this Mommy! Jonas even helped!

We let Jonas open one of his presents early so we wouldn't have to take it all the way to Vegas with us. He LOVES it! Thanks Grandma Reggie and Papa John!

Last but not least we are leaving this afternoon for Vegas. Again... It will be a blast I'm sure, but I'm a little torn to be leaving this... For weather that is not so Christmassy... Being with family will definitely make up for it.

Anyway due to a few planned trips in the next few weeks, I will be on a blog vacation, if I get the chance I'll probably check in now and then, but nothing too fancy until after the 23rd! (Of January!). Anyway we hope everyone has a wonderful holiday! We love you all and Merry Christmas!

P.S. Camille did some family pics of us last time we were in Vegas! She always does such a great job! Thanks again!

P.P.S. Santa, could you put some Smooth Dissolve Tums in my stocking this year? And maybe some Milk Chocolate Lindt Balls?

P.P.P.S. This clip has been making Jonas laugh all morning!

Better now than never... Right?

Christmas is upon us and I have so much to do. I have a stocking that needs to be finished... And 3 trips to get ready for, (all in a row mind you... Any tips on how to keep an almost 2 year old occupied on 5 plane rides?) and mail to send out. (Sorry everyone who we will be seeing, but your Christmas cards will be hand delivered due to lack of funds...) Seriously I think I'm officially starting to freak out. At least I can say my Christmas shopping is finished. Anyway, Matt has also been super busy catching up from our last trip, and getting things done before we take off again, so we haven't been seeing a whole lot of him :(. Anyway Yesterday was a pleasant surprise because he got to come home early and spend a good chunk of the day with us! We decided to have a bake-a-thon. We made Sugar Cookies, (which were long over due... Matt has been begging for them for ages) and we put together a gingerbread house. Nothing too special, just one of those box kits but it was still a lot of fun. We also picked up some things to make some treats for our friends that live nearby. Here are a few photos of the evening. Jonas only made it through half the festivities before he had to go to bed but I think it worked out for the best. (He didn't really get that the candy had to go on the house...) Oh by the way, I think I might sugar him up more often before bed... He slept till 8:30 this morning! Merry Christmas to me!
Cutting out cookies with Dad!Sampling The fresh baked goodies...
A few of the finished cookies. Matt just likes to frost them all white, he figures we're just going to eat them, but I wanted a few cute ones. This is about all I got, by the time Matt was finished with the others.
We let Jonas decorate a Gingerbread Man before he went to bed. He started to get the idea but still, he just wanted to eat it!
Showing Mom his finished masterpiece.
The finished Gingerbread House.

On days like this I really wish Matt could be home more, although then I wouldn't be able to check up on my blog friends as often. Maybe just having him home once in a while will be OK for now!

Back again for a few weeks...

Well, we are finally home from Las Vegas. I wish I could say I have a plethora of fun and exciting photos to show you, but I am embarrassed to admit that I did not really take any. How humiliating... Anyway the trip was awesome and we are so worn out that I can't believe we have to do it again in a few weeks. I guess that's the Holidays for you. For the most part it was fairly uneventful, mostly just hanging out and having fun with family and friends. We had a good time at Mount Charleston, we ate some good turkey and got some family pictures taken. Mitch had his farewell, and then we took him to Provo. It was a fun week and Jonas LOVES his Grandparents and especially his Auntie and Uncles. I don't think he even had a chance to be bored. I also got to catch up with an old friend before we left Provo to come home. It was definitely a blast. I really feel the need to do some major relaxing considering December and January are going to be crazy. (Can't Wait!) I will sign off for now. Sorry for the absent pictures. I will try and do better next time! Happy Holidays!

Why do things like this happen right before we go on Vacation?

Well this afternon while we were supposed to be packing, we did this instead... Jonas decided it would be all sorts offun to lock himself in his room, so for an hour and a half I spent my time on the floor peeking under his door trying to convince him to play with his door knob and unlock it. Eventually I gave up on this tactic and thanks to my Sis in Law Learned how to use a credit card to open a locked door, or in my case a Costco Membership card. After he wwas finally out, he then proceeded to put on my mascara. He got it all over his face but suprisingly he also got it on his eyelashes. In otherwords an eventful evening. Anyway we are off to Vegas in the morning. We will be back next week.
P.S. Mim we're going to be in Provo next wednesday, email me your number because I can't find it!

It's beginning to look alot like...

Well I'd like to say Christmas but, well lets just say that every time we set up our tree Matt asks me, "Is this all the decorations we have? Don't you have anything that goes in the rest of the house?" I just don't feel like spending money on decorations unless they are really on sale, and I always seem to miss the sales. Anyway our Christmas tree looks a lot like Christmas so I guess that will just have to do. We set it up after a looooong day at Church, oh and a long weekend preparing a lesson and a talk for sacrament meeting. Seriously, I'm exhausted, not to mention I'm already having problems sleeping. I know everyone told me this already but I was really hoping they were wrong. Apparently you do start showing a lot sooner with Number 2 than with Number 1. I wake myself up every time I switch sides to sleep on, you know considering I hate sleeping on my back and sleeping on my stomach is just too uncomfortable, (not to mention I don't want to squish the kid!). Speaking of the baby, we are having quite the dilemma, what do we name this little fella? We are fresh out of idea's for boy names. We have gotten a few suggestions and a couple that I like but I'm just not sure. I thought that I'd put the search out here, so we could see what sort of ideas our friends and family have. Seriously everyone, we need help!
Anyway the tree is up, and Christmas cards are ordered, and well the holiday tunes are blaring non stop. (Sigh, I love Christmas) Here are a couple pics from the evening. Enjoy!
"Hey Grunewald! Where are you going to put a tree that big?!" Actually the tree is not that big, our house is too small... Or low? You get the idea...

Jonas helped by eating a candy cane, and pulling off the ornaments we already hung. We left most of the ornaments on the top half of the tree so it looks a little funny but I don't care.

The tree lit up in all its glory! Notice the lack of ornaments near the bottom!

I think this might be my biggest problem, he likes to be under the tree, wouldn't that be nice if that how we got kids? Then we wouldn't get fat and have to go through labor, and it would make gift giving so much easier, they only get presents once a year, for their Birthday and Christmas... Mmmm I think I'm onto something...

Brandley Look-alike Meter

I saw this on my Friend Christinas blog and had to see for myself. I always thought Jonas was a pretty good mix, and now I know for sure!

I can't wait any longer...

I know I know it's a bit early but I am itching for Christmas. I wont put up decoration yet, so I thought decorating my blog would be the next best thing. Toddlers can't throw ornaments off your blog page and smash them to bit s on the ground, hence, the reason I am putting off putting up real decorations till Thanksgiving! Anyway I'm apologizing in advance for the music that starts automatically. I'll probably get sick of it soon enough, and turn it off, but till then you will all have to deal with a little Christmas spirit when you visit here! Happy Holidays!

The next generation of womanizers...

Last night while preparing dinner, Matt playfully spanked my butt. Apparently Jonas thought this was hilarious, and proceeded to spank my butt over and over and laugh. Can I just remind the world with this story how impressionable children are. We didn't even realize he was paying attention when all this happened. Anyway I'm off to deprogram his young mind. Hopefully I can do it before he hits puberty!
Oh and this is just another video documenting another word Jonas learned. I don't think he knows what one is but Matt thinks it's hilarious!

Stating the Obvious...

I'm pretty sure everyone already knows that we're having baby #2, but we figured that maybe we should officially announce it to all our blogging friends. Especially now that we have a picture... Oh, and a movie. Our new little one is already a movie star. Well to us anyway. Anyway we are due mid April... Thinking back to the appointment they didn't give us a specific date. Anyway that is the big news. Oh wait I guess you might want to know what it is... Jonas is going to be a big brother to a new little brother! P.S. We'll have to post the movie later, the dvd they gave us is in a funny format so Matt's taking it to work to fix it for me.
P.P.S. Just like with Jonas there was no mistaking this babies gender... Matt is so proud.

What we did on our Summer Vacation...

Obviously it was a not a summer vacation but I'm out of creative post titles. Anyway I figured it was time to update considering it has been a few weeks. We spent the last couple of weeks in Canada babysitting and spending time with family. Always fun. Surprisingly even the babysitting was fun. My sis and her Hubby flew away to Las Vegas for a few days and I got to play Mommy to 4. As always it was an adventure, between dropping kids off and picking them up and keeping the babies from beating on each other... (Jonas and Emmy did not like each other.) It was a good few days. I feel like if I did end up with 4 kids I might be able to handle it. Although I'm not sure my sanity would last much longer than 4 days if I had to do it alone. Good thing Matt is so helpful around the house. I might be able to pull it off just because I have him. Anyway enough about me having 4 kids I'm starting to hyperventilate.

Before Jessie took off, we took the kids to a Petting Zoo/Pumpkin patch and it was so much fun. Jonas could not get enough of these bunnies, also there was a cute tractor ride thing that looked like a bunch of cows. We had a good time there.

On to things that are slightly more interesting. We celebrated Halloween while we were there and surprisingly there was not a lot going on, which was probably a good thing considering the monster cold I had (still have). Jonas hated his monkey costume but I made him wear it anyway, and we did have a good time at Rawleys Preschool Halloween party. We trick or treated at the mall and then we went home to pass out candy from Grandmas house. Jonas loved all the trick or treaters and raced to the door every time someone knocked. It was a fun night.

It was Home again the next day and we stopped in Great Falls and bought Jonas a big boy bed. (Thanks Papa John!) He is seriously in love with it, although we don't let him sleep in it yet. He loves to drive his cars all over it. That's about the gist of the last couple weeks, but there is some big news coming up, so stay tuned.

Just a video of all the things Jonas can say. He would never say them on cue until lately, so we figured we had better document it.

Oh and how could I forget the main reason I actually went to Canada. To see High School Musical 3 of course. And not to worry I was so not disappointed. My love for Troy still rages on. The moment that hussy Gabriella breaks his heart I will be there to pick up the pieces.

Killing Flies = Hilarious

Read this...

I think this is so scary! and sad, and it really makes you think. I really don't have anything to post about our life, Jonas and I are just getting ready to head up to Canada, so maybe when we get back, I'll have something interesting to blog about. Till then, read this.

Getting his bi-annual uplift...?

Just a couple pictures of Jonas watching conference. I'd like to say he sat still the whole time and listened intently but who would believe me. He is a toddler. It was a lovely weekend though, just sitting and vegging out and playing and getting spiritually rejuvenated. Streaming conference online is the greatest thing they've ever done, now I have no excuse but to watch every session. Very nice. I really loved it. Especially President Monsons talk during the Sunday Morning session, seriously there is no denying what he is here to do!
Watching intently for 30 seconds.

I think that's about all he really paid attention to. Man, that kid has some energy!

Happy Birthday to a wonderful man!

Today the love of my life turns 28! I thought of naming 28 things that I love about him but I thought I might just bore you with the mushy stuff so I'll just name my top 5!

5. He does the dishes

4. He likes to cuddle

3. He L-O-V-E-S our little guy!

2. He is such a gentleman... Can I say a big thank you to his parents? He still opens my door, and all sorts of other gentlmanny things!

and the number 1 reason I love him so...

His passion for everything! He works so hard and he plays so hard and he is always trying to do the best he can! I love him, and I was lucky to have reigned him in! Happy Birthday sweetie!

Risky?

Just a quick photo, we're thinking this might be his halloween costume.
Well, if we were still in Vegas maybe, I think it might be a little cold out!

Little Stacks and a Fruit Soup-Aholic

OK I have officially finished cutting all the little pieces of my next quilt! I haven't done many but this is the first one that I would consider having lots of little pieces. There is a reason for me being so excited. When I spent a month at Camilles house... (Not a whole month, but we were there a lot.) I would watch her neatly stack her little squares and triangles for whatever quilt she happened to be working on at the time, and I loved them. Those tiny neat little piles had my whole heart! Well I officially have little stacks of my own and they have stolen my heart completely. Do I sound ridiculous? I think I might, but at least I have something to blame. Fruit Soup. Need I say more? I think it has been toxic to my brain, but in a good way... Considering the bowls upon bowls I have eaten today, I think I can safely say I am drunk on it! Which would explain my raving about little neat piles of fabric. Anyway I am off to possibly start sewing them together, or possibly have more fruit soup, or maybe I should play with Jonas, he has been slightly neglected today with all the cutting and stacking that has been going on.

Oh and P.S. as you can see I am doing a Thimble Blossoms, Peppermint Posies Quilt, but I really don't want to do peppermints, they seem so Christmassy to me and unfortunately the fabric I am using is so not Christmassy. Anyway I guess I am just out of ideas for some cute applique. If anyone has a thought I sure would appreciate it!

For everyone who checks up on us to see the little guy, here is a recent video of his awesome dance moves! I think he gets them from his Dad, obviously. Oh and please excuse the shaky camera, I could not hold still because of the laughing.

Also here is a shot of one of his favorite things to do. I'm not sure why, but he loves to sit under a blanket, he especially likes it when someone is under there with him but he does just fine on his own too. Weird kid!

Washing the Car!

We're not too exciting aroung here these days but here are a few pics of Jonas and Matt washing the Jeep today. Please excuse all the butt shot of Matt, I was more focused on Jonas when I took these and I didn't really pay attention to what Matt was doing in the background!
Oh and for everyone who is not a fan of naked kids just stop reading now. Jonas would not get out of the tub last night, he seriously sat in there for like 10 minutes, but I thought it was funny!

Sorry we're so dull. Hopefully something exciting will happen soon. Till then I'm not sure how you'll entertain myself. Me on the other hand, I'm going to try my hand at Fondant Cakes. I've been inspired! Check it out!
